Leave early and climb into the highlands before the heat: the temple on Lake Beratan at Bedugul, a swim at Banyumala's twin waterfall, the viewpoint over Lake Buyan and Lake Tamblingan, then lunch and a walk at Jatiluwih's rice terraces on the way back down. Your own car and driver between every stop; back at your hotel about eight hours later.
It's the north-Bali day most people picture — lake, waterfall, viewpoint, terraces — done in the right order. We go up to Bedugul first while the lake is still calm and the tour buses are still on the coast, take the waterfall in the late morning when a swim feels good, and save Jatiluwih for the afternoon light and lunch with a view.
The air is noticeably cooler up here, so it's a good day for anyone who's had enough of the beach heat. There's some walking: steps down to the waterfall and back, and as much of the terrace loop as you like.

Putu was at the hotel right on time. We had Banyumala with very few people around, then the twin lakes and a slow lunch looking over Jatiluwih. He read the weather and swapped two stops so the walk stayed dry. Exactly the day the page describes.
